  • Region 2 - Lower Mainland: Changes to regulations on Silverhope Creek

    Silverhope Creek:

    Bait ban and fly fishing only July 1-Oct 31

    Effective June 15, 2017



  • Region 4 - Kootenay: Changes to kokanee quota regulations on the Upper West Arm of Kootenay Lake

    Upper West Arm of Kootenay Lake:

    Kokanee release all year, EXCEPT Apr 1-Apr 2, May 1-May 2, June 1-June 2, and July 1-July 2 when kokanee daily quota = 5.

    NOTE: the combined daily quota for kokanee from the Upper West Arm (when open to kokanee harvest) and the Lower West Arm (when open to kokanee harvest) cannot exceed 5.

    Effective April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018



  • Region 3 - Thompson-Nicola

    Shuswap Lake, south of and west of a line between Engineer’s Point and Sunnybrae Point
    Open to fishing in accordance with the 2015-2017 Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis
    effective January 1, 2017



  • Region 3 - Thompson-Nicola

    Coldwater River, Nicola River, and Spius Creek
    Open to fishing in accordance with the 2015-2017 Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis
    effective October 1, 2016



  • Region 8 - Okanagan

    Shuswap River
    Open to fishing in accordance with the 2015-2017 Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis
    effective November 16, 2016



  • Region 1 - Vancouver Island

    All streams within Management Units 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5, and 1-6, except the *Big Qualicum River, the *Puntledge River and the *Quinsam River
    *Remain unchanged as per the 2015-2017 Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis.
    Closed to fishing
    July 1, 2016 to September 15, 2016

    All streams within Management Units 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5, and 1-6.
    Open to fishing in accordance with the 2015-2017 Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis.
    September 16, 2016



  • Region 3 - Thompson-Nicola

    Shuswap Lake, south of and west of a line between Engineer's Point and Sunnybrae Point
    Closed to fishing
    September 3, 2016 to December 31, 2016
